Solving the Material Unloading and River Level Problems

On a beautiful sunny day, we visited PowerSouth Energy, located in LeRoy, Alabama to see an E-Crane in action. The plant can generate 556 megawatts--enough to power approximately 556,000 homes. Coal, the primary source of fuel is transported either by barge from the Tombigbee River or by rail.

When PowerSouth Energy Cooperative upgraded its plant, E-Crane offered a turnkey solution. E-crane solved the material unloading and river level problems. It did so by providing a floating terminal of two barges, a hopper, a barge haul system, and a barge-breasting system.
